Family friendly for all ages, there is something for everyone at Augill Castle, from toddlers to teenagers to grandparents. Indoors, there is a library with board games and toys, and a cinema, while the twenty-acre grounds boast a playground, a tennis court and even a tree-house. The area around the castle is perfect for an endless list of outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, water-sports or horse-riding, among many other options. The dining room is in the heart of the castle, and is an invitation to be part of a unique country castle experience for breakfast, afternoon tea and supper. First floor King four poster (sleeps two adults and up to two children under 12 on chair beds). Haygarth: Romantic double - ideal just for two. A green and gold room with floor to ceiling arched Gothic window over the front porch with views across the gardens. The bathroom has an original fireplace and large double ended bath big enough for two. First floor king-size four poster (sleeps two adults). Langdale: Romantic double - ideal just for two. Gothic leaded windows, oak panelling, a turn-of-the-century fireplace and elegant Edwardian four poster bed. The stunning blue and white bathroom has a marble washstand and a Victorian claw footed bath. First floor antique double four poster (sleeps two adults). Brackenber: Romantic double - ideal just for two. The window is framed in painted eighteenth century oak panelling and instead of a wardrobe there's a turret. A rediscovered arched window forms the doorway down to the large bathroom with a polished oak floor. First floor king-size mahogany four poster (sleeps two adults). Middlesmoor: Romantic double - ideal just for two. Elegantly decorated in blue and gold with a leaded bay window extending the entire width of the room. The bed is dated the same year as the castle was built. The bathroom is delicately decorated in blue and white with an original nineteenth century corner basin. First floor king antique half tester bed (sleeps two adults). Appleby: Grand double - for couples looking for extra space or families with young children. A cast iron fireplace, squishy sofa and Mahogany six-foot bed, original watercolours and botanical prints. Four creaky old wooden steps lead down to the castle's largest, panelled four poster bathroom. First floor super king (sleeps two adults and up to two children under 12 on chair beds). Derwent & Raisbeck - The North Wing: Interconnecting suite of two rooms - just made for families of all ages. In the North Wing, a huge suite of two bedrooms decorated in regal purple and William Morris blue with poetry on the ceiling, one round wall and a family bathroom with cast iron roll top bath. King antique brass bed (sleeps two adults & up to two children under 12 on chair beds) plus antique twin brass beds. Greystoke: Romantic garden twin or double - a perfect retreat for couples. Part of the old Orangery with two huge arched gothic windows opening onto the garden. There is a turret for a wardrobe and a touch of Wendy's African upbringing giving the room a more contemporary feel. Ground floor super king or twin (sleeps two adults). The Orangery: Garden suite - perfect for couples wanting to hide away or families of all ages.
