Originally built in 1894, this fairytale hotel is the perfect spot for exploring the beautiful Telemark region and the canal, with its spectacular locks and breathtaking scenery. Dalen Hotel can organise a range of trips on the historic steamer M / S Henrik Ibsen, including round trip packages by bicycle or canoe. Other popular activities include hiking, horse-riding, fishing and golf, and guests can play croquet on the well-tended lawns of the hotel.

Dalen Hotel also has a fine restaurant, serving extraordinary menus inspired by the Telemark region, featuring a combination of traditional regional cuisine and international flourishes. Meals can be enjoyed in the elegant dining room, or out of doors by the historic sugar maple. Single Room:
These are intimate and welcoming rooms with interiors decorated in the style of the "old days". The room is equipped with exclusive Kama Ayurveda amenities as well as bathrobe, slippers and mineral water. The single rooms can accommodate one extra bed. One single bed. Room size 9 sq m.
Historic Room with Bathroom in the Corridor:
Four of the charming historic twin rooms, with two single beds, 90 x 200 cm, are furnished in the style of the "old days". Two modern bathrooms with WC are to be found a few steps down the corridor. One of these rooms, the St. Olav, is more spacious, with the possibility of adding two extra beds making it a four-bed room. This room has an excellent view of the garden and Lake Bandak as well as a large balcony. The historic twin rooms all feature exclusive Kama Ayurveda amenities as well as a bathrobe, slippers and mineral water. Room size 9 to 16 sq m.
Double Room:
Five of the standard double rooms have a beautiful view of the garden and Lake Bandak. The other standard double rooms face the mountains and the centre of Dalen. All standard rooms are equipped with exclusive Kama Ayurveda amenities as well as bathrobes, slippers and mineral water. Three of these rooms have three beds as standard, seven can accommodate one extra bed. King-size bed. Room size 12 to 15 sq m.
Deluxe Room with Balcony:
These are charming, bright rooms with a balcony, all facing the garden and Lake Bandak. Four of the rooms have direct garden access. All rooms are equipped with exclusive Kama Ayurveda amenities as well as a bathrobe, slippers, fruit and mineral water. One king size bed. Room size 15 sq m.
Family Room:
These rooms feature a delicate and spacious living room with double bed, separate bedroom with twin beds and mountain view. Family rooms are equipped with exclusive Kama Ayurveda amenities, bathrobe, slippers, fresh fruit and mineral water. One king-size bed, twin beds. Room size 30 sq m.
Suite:
The suite features a spacious living area featuring dinner table for six persons, separate bedroom with a view of the mountains and the centre of Dalen. The suite is equipped with exclusive Kama Ayurveda amenities as well as bathrobe, slippers, fresh flowers, fruit and mineral water. The suite can accommodate one - two extra beds. One king-size bed.
