Description: Gorah Elephant CampLocated in the heart of the famous Addo Elephant National Park, Gorah Elephant Camp is set in a unique safari lodge, based around the gracious Goray Manor House, originally built in 1856. Immaculately restored and furnished with period pieces, this fabulous property offers luxurious safari accommodation, unforgettable wildlife experiences and first-class bespoke service in a matchless natural environment.Overlooking a waterhole teeming with game, Gorah Elephant Camp offers a fabulous range of wildlife experiences, including professionally guided game drives, with the opportunity of discovering elephant, rhino, lion and countless other examples of plains game in their natural habitat. Addo Elephant National Park is home to the densest population of elephants on earth, allowing guests a unique close-up perspective of these magnificent animals. Family friendly, Gorah organises special activities for children, and children aged ten and over can also go on game drives. Gorah Elephant Camp has a number of magnificent dining venues, including the historic dining room, with its warm fires and paraffin lanterns in winter, and a breezy veranda in summer. Another spectacular gathering place is the traditional Boma, with its open fire, where guests can enjoy delicious barbecued meals under the vast African skies. Each is enhanced with the fine comforts and excellence associated with Hunter Hotels. Each lavish tent has its own private deck offering a panoramic view of the endless savannah plains. The plush interior of the tent is enhanced through the simplicity and the authenticity of solar power lighting and ceiling fans. The en-suite bathroom with bespoke vanities and shower is discreetly situated to allow for complete privacy. To complete the experience, the tented suite invites guests to completely relax and unwind with a book on the comfy couch, or take an afternoon nap on the king-size bed, with 300 count cotton sheets enveloping you and sending you to dreamland. Suite size 50 sq m. All tents feature: hair-dryer; personal in-room safe; bathrobes; slippers; Charlotte Rhys body products; umbrellas; complimentary sherry in the room. At the traffic circle take the second exit onto Alistair Miller Road (M11). Palm trees lining road, airport is now on your right. Go through the next traffic circle on Alistair Millar Road. Turn left at Traffic Light into Forest Hill Drive (graveyard on your left). Follow Forest Hill Drive to the intersection of Walmer Boulevard (M9). Turn right onto Walmer Boulevard (Fire Station on your left. You will see the sea in front of you then with the harbour). Turn left into Settlers Way (M4). Follow the signs to Grahamstown N2 (keep right after turning left, don't go under the bridge!) Follow the N2 towards Colchester. There are 2 turnoffs to the Addo Elephant National Park, the first is 10.4 km's from the airport (Addo Elephant National Park/Motherwell) DO NOT take this turnoff. The second turnoff is 30 kms from the airport, this is the CORRECT turnoff (Addo Elephant National Park/Camp Matyholweni Gate). On the N2 after crossing the Sundays River bridge, start looking out for signs for the Addo Elephant Park/Camp Matyholweni Gate turn off to your left. After turning left, follow the road for 1Km until you get to a sign for the Addo National Park turn off towards your right. After turning right, follow the road for 2 km to the Addo National Park Matyholweni Gate. Follow the road straight on for 15,8 km (You will pass Vukani loop, Mbotyi loop, Ngulube loop and Harveys loop). You will reach a 4 way cross road where you will turn right towards the N10 Exit Gat.
