Description: Quinta de VillanuevaLocated in rolling countryside overlooking the village of Colombres, Quinta de Villanueva is set in a painstakingly restored early 20th century mansion, a typical "casa de indiano", built by emigrants who returned to Asturias after making their fortunes in Chile and Mexico. This historic building is now a charming boutique hotel, offering delightful accommodation in a tranquil rural atmosphere. Just three kilometres from the centre of the village, there are several spectacular beaches within easy reach, and Colombres itself is home to the Archive of the Indianos and a number of spectacular historic mansions. Slightly further afield are the coastal towns of Llanes and Comillas, with Gaudí's "Capricho", an essential visit in the region.Situated between the beautiful coast of Cantabria and the Picos de Europa, Quinta de Villanueva is ideal for outdoor activities of all kinds, including hiking and mountaineering, mountain biking and kayaking, to name but a few. Guests at the hotel may include any of these activities when they make their reservations with the hotel. Quinta de Villanueva's delicious breakfast is served in the elegant dining room with views of the garden, and there is also a comfortable lounge for moments of quiet relaxation. The whole property has been restored and decorated respecting the original colonial style of the house, with extensive use of antique furniture, noble wood and tiling, and comfortable fabrics. Quinta de Villanueva has 19 comfortable rooms, all elegantly appointed and spacious. The rooms come with large double or twin beds and feature a range of modern amenities, including flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi internet connection and safes and mini-bars.
