Tucked away within the lush greenery of the jungle of San Ignacio is a family run boutique resort, Vanilla Hills Lodge. Consisting of individual lodges, all deeply embedded into the lavish greenery, Vanilla Hills Lodge makes for an exceptional experience. The colourful orange grove and coconut palms amid the gardens of the hotel provide local produce for the daily breakfast at the restaurant which also offers an exceptional dinner and lunch with all dishes coming from locally grown sources. The swimming pool is just steps away and is surrounded by the wonders of the jungle.

The rustic yet elegant bungalows of Vanilla Hills Lodge were built by the staff and owners. They are made from local hardwood and other sustainable material. The bungalows are spaced through the jungle providing ample amounts of privacy.

Vanilla Hills Lodge is close to many of Belize’s wonders such as the large Mayan temples, deep underground caves, and the mighty lush jungle. It is also a short drive away from the town center of San Ignacio, perfect for enjoying some local culture and cuisine. The hotel also provides many tour activities to the surrounding areas.

Type of rooms: Vanilla Hills Lodge

Vanilla Hills Lodge offers six different styles of lodges spaced through the jungle and individually designed and furnished. Each of the bungalows consists of a large veranda to enjoy nature. The bungalows also offer air conditioning, Wi-Fi, fans, private bathroom, hot/cold shower, toiletries, hairdryer, safe, fridge, coffee maker with coffee, hammock, clothes line, and bottled water.

Coconut: With a space of 29 sqm, this one-bedroom bungalow has a queen bed and a modern outdoor shower. The room has ceiling to floor windows letting in so much natural light.
Hibiscus: At 30 sqm, this one-bedroom lodge has a queen bed and a twin bed making space for three guests, plus a cozy living area. The lodge also features a kitchenette with a microwave and ceramic glass cooktop.
Guanacaste: Guanacaste is a one-bedroom lodge with a king bed and a spacious veranda. It features a modern outdoor shower and a kitchenette with a microwave, all in a space of 42 sqm.
Gumbo Limbo: This romantic 45 sqm lodge has a large king bed with ceiling to floor glass doors opening up to the veranda. It has an outdoor shower and kitchenette with a microwave.
Orchid: This spacious 48 sq bungalow has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed and a twin bed. It has a full kitchen and dining/living area plus the exceptional veranda to enjoy nature.
Villa Vista: The biggest bungalow at the hotel is Villa Vista, a 136 sqm two-bedroom, two-bathroom lodge offering space for 6 guests. One bedroom has a king bed and a double bed while the other has a queen bed. It is complete with a full kitchen and dining area and impressive views of the gardens and mountain from its veranda.
