Description: Basque BoutiqueThis spectacular guest house is situated on the first floor of a traditional building in the heart of Bilbao’s old town, and offers just eight individually themed and decorated rooms. The reception and common areas of the guest house are inspired by the Omako Basoa, an enchanted forest created by the artist Agustín Ibarrola in 1984.Each themed room at Basque Bilbao is fully air-conditioned, has a private bathroom and features unique decoration, with fascinating elements from iconic examples of Basque culture and lifestyle. Type of rooms: Basque BoutiqueEl Caserío: This room features a number of typical elements from traditional Basque farmhouses, including the rustic table and chairs, and milk churns, which serve as unique bedside tables.Karola Crane: This spectacular room uses elements that reflect this famous crane, the largest and most powerful of the shipyards of Spain. The table and chairs are based on mooring elements from the shipyard. Gernika: This room is based on images from Picasso’s painting of the same name. La Baldosa de Bilbao: This room is themed on the iconic pavement tiles of Bilbao, and also incorporates elements from contemporary works of art that can be seen around the city. La Marijaia: This room is based on La Marijaia, the symbol of Aste Nagusia, Bilbao’s annual festivities. El Txakoli: This room follows the theme of this white wine, one of the most popular products of the Basque Country. The room features furniture made from wine barrels, along with grape and vine themed decoration. El Músico Arriaga: This room is inspired by the great Basque musician and composer, Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga. El Euskera: This room is themed on the Basque language, and incorporates other elements from Basque culture, including theIkurriña (the Basque flag), the Lauburu, the symbol of Basque folklore, and The Comb of the Wind, one of the most famous works by the sculptor Eduardo Chillida.
