This charming property was first opened as a hotel in 1980, and has been extensively enlarged since then. Elegant English country-style furnishings contrast with this king bed-sitting room's humble name. A pair of easy chairs in front of the fireplace, a window seat that invites serious readers, and high beamed ceilings with skylights keep things light and lofty.
Woodland Room:
A spacious ground level king-bed sitting room opens to a deck overlooking a grassy meadow, and is warmed by an open fireplace.
Essex Deluxe Hillside Suite:
Deluxe Suites enjoy sea views from the private balcony, living room and king size bed. Amenities include a fireplace, heated tile floors, a large soaking tub and separate shower.
Meadow Suite:
A garden-level two-room suite, newly remodelled in 2003, offers a queen bed sitting room with fireplace and TV armoire. French doors open to a verdant meadow perfect for watching eagles and other birds (we host over 250 varieties). A separate study with desk and daybed also accesses the large bath with walk-in shower and generous soaking tub (wheelchair friendly).
Deluxe Hillside Suite - Willow, Laurel, Hawthorn, Sussex, Heather:
Deluxe Hillside Suites enjoy sea views from the private balcony, living room and a king-size bed or twin beds. Amenities include a fireplace, heated tile floors, a large soaking tub and separate shower.
Sealoft Room:
This cosy upper level queen bed-sitting room features high-beamed ceilings, a pair of wing chairs in front of the fireplace, and a large sky-lit bath with both tub and shower. Large windows look out over the garden wishing well and towards the ocean.
Post Deluxe Cottage:
The original Hudson's Bay Post building on Salt Spring Island, is now a deluxe two-room garden cottage, a favourite for honeymooners due to its privacy. French doors open to spacious lawns and an ocean view. The charming interior features a gas stove, deep soaking tub, and a king-size bedroom, all set under a huge heritage pear tree.
Manor West Suite:
The large front bed-sitting room of this two bedroom, one bath suite features an ocean view, queen bed, leaded glass windows and comfortable seating for three around the stone fireplace. The second bedroom features twin beds with eiderdown comforters and antique mahogany.
Manor East Suite:
This two-room suite with half-timbered ceiling features a spacious living room with flat stone fireplace and ocean view through leaded glass windows. The queen bedroom is furnished with antique oak and chintz.
Greenhouse Suite:
Wrap-around windows bring the garden into this large two-room suite. Hand-painted borders and paintings by local artists enhance the king-sized bedroom and bath, with its deep soaking tub. A wood-burning fireplace, wicker furniture, and overstuffed sleeper sofa in the sunken living room complete this spacious accommodation.
Farmhouse East Premier Suite:
A two-story ocean front deluxe suite. The lower floor sitting room features an open brick fireplace and private porch, a queen sleeper sofa and large bathroom with soaking tub for two. Upstairs features a king bed-sitting room with a lovely seating area overlooking the harbour, plus a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Farmhouse West Premier Suite:
A two-story ocean front deluxe suite. The lower floor sitting room features an open brick fireplace and private porch, a queen sleeper sofa and large bathroom with soaking tub for two. Upstairs features a king bed-sitting room with a lovely seating area overlooking the harbour, plus a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Somerset Premier Hillside Suite:
This spacious premier suite in the cedar-clad Hillside group features a large air-conditioned living/dining room with fir and slate gas fireplace and a large deck overlooking the harbour and marina. A large bedroom, open to the living room through French doors, is furnished with an armoire and king bed. Accessible from both entry and bedroom, the oversized bathroom boasts a soaking tub for two, heated slate floors, heated towel bar, a walk-in shower and double sinks. Somerset is often the choice for small receptions and meetings, or as an elegant hospitality suite.
Churchill Family Cottage:
The Churchill Cottage sleeps up to five in three bedrooms (twin/king in the master, queen bedroom, and a single twin), is our only accommodation suitable for small children. Mature couples will also enjoy its spaciousness and privacy, and the weekly rate invites longer stays. Equipped with a full kitchen and small dining room, a single bathroom, TV/DVD, washer and dryer, free-standing fireplace in the living room, a large deck overlooking the hotel property and harbour, and private lawns, it is accessed by car or by footpath from reception.
