Located in the heart of the São Mamede Natural Park, this spectacular property stands in two-hundred thousand square metres of farm and parkland, principally devoted to the cultivation of lavender. Just four kilometres from the beautiful town of Castelo de Vide, Quinta das Lavandas offers charming bed and breakfast accommodation in a privileged rural setting.

Enjoying a delightful rural situation, Quinta das Lavandas is perfect for relaxing visits to this beautiful area of the northern Alentejo. The nearby historic town of Castelo de Vide is justly famous as one of the most beautiful in Portugal, while Portalegre, with its famous cathedral, and the spectacular hilltop town of Marvão are both within easy reach of the property. On the farm itself, guests can enjoy guided visits to the vineyard, the lavender plantations and the still, where the fascinating distillation process of lavender oil is explained in full detail. The region is ideal for hiking and mountain biking, with myriad routes and trails passing through spectacular natural areas.

Quinta das Lavandas has just seven unique bedrooms, each individually themed after plants and trees cultivated on the farm - olive, lavender, rosemary, oak... Charming furnishing and warm décor are complemented by original artefacts by local artists.

From Lisbon, follow directions for the A2/Sul and then the A6 to Estremoz.
In Estremoz, take the IP2/N18 in the direction of Portalegre.
In Portalegre, follow directions for Castelo de Vide, taking the N246 towards Castelo de Vide.
By the Fire station, turn left at the roundabout and follow the signs that indicate "Quinta das Lavandas". The farm is just 4 km further along this road.

From Porto, take the A1 towards Lisbon.
Follow directions for Torres Vedras and then follow the A23 until you reach the IP2/N18 road, going towards Portalegre.
Continue along this road until you see the turning for Castelo de Vide.
By the Fire station, turn left at the roundabout and follow the signs that indicate "Quinta das Lavandas". The farm is just 4 km further along this road.
