Temple House, Connacht

Dining: Enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared with produce from local organic suppliers and fruit and vegetables from the organic walled kitchen garden; lamb from their farm, pike or perch from the lake if you catch it or locally caught wild salmon; a special treat! End the day chatting to the other guests round the fire or in a local pub, enjoying the traditional Irish music sessions and set or ceile dancing.

Surrounding the lake there are beautiful dense woods and a promontory fort on the eastern shore, and several Crannogs in the lake. Herons nest in the beech trees and there are Pine martin in the woods. Otters play on the shore and ducks, pheasant, swans, kingfishers, crested grebes and peregrine falcon are among over 100 birds seen here.

There are people available to assist with carrying bags.
There are no disabled facilities.
Children: are welcome.

Activities: Swimming is possible in the peaty waters of the lake.
Boats are provided for fishing for pike and other coarse fish, Brown trout, Rainbow trout, Salmon, Grilse and Sea fishing can be arranged for you when you stay at Temple House. There is also shooting available.

Local sporting activities include riding schools and trekking, game, coarse and sea fishing, golf, hill walking, bird watching and boating on Temple House Lake.
