Description: BroholmBroholm has been a meeting place since 1326. Here, in safety behind the wide moats, the proud and enterprising families of Ulfeld, Fikkesen, von Mehlen, Brockenhuus, Skeel and Sehested met with the other powers in the kingdom. Broholm as it stands today dates back only as far back as 1642, but anyone visiting the manor will be able to sense the spirit left behind by seven centuries of habitation: the history of Denmark, the culture, the gallery of family portraits, the architecture and the art, and one can sense the lives and presence of previous generations seeping out of the gilt leather and wood panelling.Broholm is one of the oldest manor houses in Denmark, set in idyllic countryside on eastern Funen. After 100 years of beauty sleep, the newly restored, late-Gothic main building has be renovated and all the rooms have been authentically furnished. Perfect for guests who are looking for a unique and exclusive place to stay. All suites and rooms are different, entirely depending on which historical personages left their mark on them. They all offer such magnificent views that even the drowsiest of guests will be enticed to the window before going down for breakfast. Over the years, Broholms gardens and parkland have not only formed a beautiful setting for the old manor house, they have also given the Sehested family a wealth of opportunity for outdoor activities. There was a tennis court and a skittle alley, and it was easy to find a peaceful spot to sit and fish. From the garden side of the house, one could row across the lake to the delightful summerhouse where afternoon tea was often served. The hotel offers the perfect for business meeting, infact meetings of one sort or another have been held at Broholm since the Middle Ages. The meeting room and group rooms used depend entirely on your requirements and the number of people participating. Whether you are planning a small, social arrangement for a close-knit circle of friends or acquaintances who you want to treat to a special occasion, or a large event the hotel staff are willing to help with all the preparations and details. The setting-up of Broholm Equestrian Centre in one of the wings of the former home farm which lies within the moat is a dream come true for the present owners of the estate. For 30-40 years, Anne and Frederik Lütken have been heavily involved in equestrian sports, working with clubs and associations and as practising riders concentrating on show-jumping, military and dressage. Anne Lütken, the twelfth generation at Broholm, has also taught dressage for many years in the UK. Type of rooms: Broholm7 Double Rooms3 Suites 1 Single Room Some rooms can take an extra bed.
