A short distance from Torquay, with its historic links to Agatha Christie, its delightful harbour, pavilion and Kents Cavern stone-age site, guests wishing to explore slightly further afield can be on Dartmoor in less than half an hour. Another fascinating attraction is the Round Robin steam train and historic river boat circuit. The proud holder of two AA Rosettes, Orestone Manor's restaurant serves delicious menus featuring modern English and European cuisine, based on the finest locally sourced seasonal produce - South Devon beef, West Country free-range pork and lamb, local game and freshly caught fish and seafood from the local fishing fleets. The Manor also arranges a selection of unique gastronomic events, including 'Allo 'Allo, Murder Mystery or Fawlty Towers theme nights, along with Seafood nights and mid-week table d'hôtes. Room 7: This romantic bedroom is tucked up in the eaves of the hotel, with a cosy ambiance and William Morris inspired décor. There is a cosy sitting area leading off from the bedroom which has sea views and another window offers a garden outlook. The quirky bathroom has a large roll top bath, perfect for sharing, and a walk in shower. Room 8: This distinctive bedroom is located in the eaves of the hotel, and offers a lovely French country style décor. With a king size double bed and an abundance of character, this timeless bedroom offers full height for the majority of the space. With good countryside and sea views this is a lovely classical choice. The cosy bathroom offers a bath with shower over. Room 10: This bright bedroom, located within the charming eves of the hotel, boasts pretty gables. It benefits from a private balcony overlooking the bay and a king-size double bed. The bathroom has a corner bath with hand held shower. Room 3: This elegant, spacious bedroom has large bay windows with garden and sea views. It features an oversized super-king antique "bateau lit" sleigh bed, William Morris wallpaper and attractive art deco pieces and fittings. Room 5: This Parisian inspired bedroom can be made into a super-king double or twin. With a classic décor and a boudoir ambiance, this is a well sized bedroom with lots of character. The room has a seating area, writing desk, and lovely views across the countryside to Lyme Bay. There is a large bathroom with a bath with shower over. Room 6: This spacious bedroom has been stylishly decorated full of eastern promise. The beds can be made up as a super-king double or twin beds with an option to create a family room with the addition of children's beds. The large bathroom has 'his and hers' sinks and an enormous roll top bath, large enough for two, and a separate walk-in shower. Room 4: This large 1920s chic bedroom has a king-sized four-poster bed and large bay windows which are south facing with coastal views. It has a newly decorated contemporary character bathroom, featuring large double shower, 'his and hers' twin sinks and stunning stand-alone roll top bath. Room 1, Garden Suite: This private suite occupies a secluded location within the hotel, and enjoys a large private terrace complete with Jacuzzi hot tub, dining area and sun lounger. The room and terrace enjoy fabulous sea views. One super king-size four-poster bed. Room 2, Horsley Suite: This grand, spacious bedroom located on the first floor is the largest room in the hotel. This superior suite has large sash windows with splendid sea views and a king-size brass four- poster bed. Boasting rich fabrics and stylish art deco fittings, this beautifully decorated room has a lounge area, 'his and hers sinks' and views to be enjoyed. With lots of space to relax, this room can also be made up for families using a sofa bed and up to 2 additional beds. All rooms are equipped with fluffy bathrobes, luxurious fluffy towels, flat-screen TV with Sky TV (including Sky Sports), telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary bottled water and delicious biscuits. |

How to get here: Approaching from Teignmouth on the A379 (signposted Torquay), look for the Torquay sign (stay with main road and do not follow signs for Maidencombe Village and beach). One mile further on, turn 'acute left' into Rockhouse Lane. There is a signpost to the hotel on the main A379 road at the top of Rockhouse Lane. From Torquay, follow the A379 (signposted Teignmouth) up Watcombe Hill. Then watch for Brunel Manor and turn right down Rockhouse Lane approximately 50 yards further on. There is a signpost to the hotel on the main A379 road at the top of Rockhouse Lane. Please note that the A379 was formerly the B3199 and may still appear as such on some maps.
