This city is a jewel. With an intense history, located in the south of Croatia on the Adriatic coast, and its walled old town, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The walk on the wall is a delight: with 16 towers and 25 meters high, it provides beautiful panoramic views. Although the construction originated in the 10th century, the walled complex underwent a restoration in the 17th century. Dubrovnik's maximum splendor was between the thirteenth and seventeenth centuries, and today it is a cozy and vibrant medium sized city.

The cathedral, built on the same place three times, reveals part of its intricate history: the Byzantine legacy of the seventh century, the later Romanesque, and the Baroque from the early eighteenth century, which reaches us still today.

The Monastery of San Francisco boasts one of the best preserved Romanesque cloisters in Dalmatia. It houses a small treasure: a pharmacy in operation since the fourteenth century. The Onofrio Fountain, with multiple masked faces, points to the heart of the ancient city, whose central axis is the Stradun street. The beautiful Sponza Palace, in Luza Square, preserves the medieval atmosphere.

Take a cable car up to Mount Srdj to see the spectacular panoramic view of the city. Dubrovnik's name means oak, as seen in the lush forests of the area. Its seaport, next to the old town, is full of life. Hotels in the historic center and the coastal front have caught its charm.
