The capital of Ecuador, located in the heart of the Andes mountain range at almost 3,000 m altitude, is a unique place due to the surroundings and splendid cultural legacy it treasures. With an extensive historical center, one of the largest in South America, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The set of churches in the Quito Baroque style with spectacular interior ornamentation stand out. The Church of the Company, known as the great Jewel of America, and the church of San Francisco, of exceptional dimensions, are prime examples.
In the old town, the particular Ecuadorian handicrafts are enchanting: from the goldsmiths to the retouchers of saints and, to personalize the statues, clothing stores for the saints.

Close to the city, the Inti Llacta reserve allows you to enter the Cloud Forest with its exuberant lushness and high circuits through the forest canopy. To observe Quito from above, climb one of the viewpoints that surround it. The Cerro del Panecillo, with the large silver statue of the Virgen Alada, offers spectacular views. In the historic center of Quito, staying in the informal or classic luxury hotels is a delight. |
