Huma Terra is a unique "green lodge", nestled in the heart of the Galle region of Sri Lanka, surrounded by swaying palms and seemingly endless rice fields. Set in five individually designed tree houses and cabins, Huma Terra offers spectacular accommodation, fascinating outdoor activities and an Ayurveda centre in total harmony with nature.

Firmly committed to the green, ecological ethic, Huma Terra has been entirely built with sustainable, locally sourced timber, and uses electricity supplied by photovoltaic panels and water drawn from natural wells. The salt water pool is treated without the use of chemicals, while special care has been taken with the choice of materials used for the décor and the bed linen - hemp and organic cotton, to conform to all eco-labelling standards. The tree houses and cabins offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, and are spacious and comfortably furnished. Natural ventilation and the elevated location of the units makes air-conditioners unnecessary.

Activities available direct from the lodge include bicycle and e-bike trips, visits to the nearby tea plantation, discovery visits to Buddhist temples, and a unique elephant experience at Water for Elephants, with trips on the elephants, feeding, washing and bathing in the lake. An ayurveda centre is also available, and Huma Terra's restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner in a delightful open setting.

Nadu:
A true love nest, NADU will delight couples wishing to enjoy moments of quiet, intimate relaxation. Standing 4,5 metres above the ground, this cabin is comfortable and cozy. Panoramic rice field views, perfect for couples. Cabin size 23 sq m.
Samba:
The largest of the tree houses, at 29 sq m, it is nestled 4,5 metres above the ground in the midsts of coconut palms, and can accommodated 2 or 3 guests. Samba has a fabulous location near the pool, but hidden from the gaze of other guests.

The Mono Trunks
Kekulu:
KEKULU plunges guests into the heart of a unique atmosphere and invites them to enjoy the harmony of original and exclusive decoration. Nestled in the heart of a 5 metre mango tree, KEKULU transports guests to the heart of its branches. With an area of 23 sq m, it can accommodate 2 or 3 guests with all the comfort of a cozy nest. Panoramic views of the lodge and the rice fields.
Ponni:
A night in the PONNI hut is a prelude to a dream and a return childhood nostalgia. Suspended 6 metres off the ground, and with an area of 25 sq m, this charming cabin can accommodate 2 to 3 guests.
Heenati - Family Unit:
Overlooking the rice paddy, HEENATI was designed to allow the youngest guests to share the pleasure of wilderness life. A variety of birds can be observed from its terrace. This cabin has an area of 52 sq m, and is suitable for 2 to 4 guests, including children. It has a bathroom with an external shower, and is the only unit with a flushing toilet.

Extra Bed: no extra bed is possible for Nadu Cabana. For other cabanas, one single extra bed is possible on request and charges apply.
