A traditional summer holiday on the coast of the Baltic Sea has a name and it is Binz. Located in the northeast of Germany, this is a delightful town whose origin dates back to the 14th century. However, its current personality was acquired in the nineteenth century with the construction of the first hotel bathhouse. Thomas Mann and Chancellor Bismarck are some illustrious names who frequented the spas.
Old villas facing the sea in pristine white, beaches of fine sand and clear skies swept by the winds, illuminate the picturesqueness of this European Northern coast. With the restoration of many historic buildings, Binz was relaunched after the reunification of Germany.

Enjoy long walks, also possible in the summer thanks to the special location and climate. Highly recommended are the walks along the coast of cliffs to Sellin, a neighboring summer town. The train connection facilitates a relaxed return. The intact beauty of the Jasmund Nature Park was immortalized by the romantic painter Firedrich in his legendary painting of 1818 Kreidefelsen auf Rügen (White Cliffs in Rügen). You can even go down to to the unique chalk beach.
Binz is located in Rügen, the largest island in Germany. Facing the beach, small charming hotels boast a privileged location. |
