The area around this tiny, unspoilt fishing village boasts a spectacular landscape, along with unique wildlife. A paradise for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, Borgarfjörður eystri is the starting point for 27 well-marked hiking routes, ranging from short walks to day-long excursions. Maps and guides are available in the village. About 10.000 pairs of puffins nest in Borgarfjörður in the spring and summer, and Borgarfjörður Marina is connected to a small island where these fascinating sea-birds can be observed at very close range.

There are a small number of restaurants and cafés in the village, where visitors can enjoy delicious local cuisine based on the freshly caught fish from the harbour. After a busy day's hiking or sightseeing, guests can wind down in one of the hot tubs - both indoor and outdoor, or enjoy the sauna and take a plunge into the Arctic sea. A hearty Icelandic breakfast is served every morning in the kitchen of the guest-house.

The apartments are also equipped with a fully equipped kitchenette with dishwasher, and a flat-screen TV. The private bathroom comes with a shower. Free Wi-Fi is also included.
