Located in southern Italy, the Calabria region occupies the territory of the tip of the boot. Its magnificent 800 km of coastline, lapped by both the Ionian Sea and the Tyrrhenian, make it predominantly marine.
The extensive coastline combines rocky profiles, where picturesque villages crowd together with coastal strips of long beaches. Capo Vaticano, with transparent waters and fine sand embraced by a century-old grove, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. An exceptional stretch unfolds between Amantea and Belmonte, the so-called blue oasis of the Escollos de Isca, in the Riviera dei Cedri, a mecca for diving enthusiasts.

On the Costa degli Dei, the small fishing village Pizzo Calabro is famous for its traditional cuisine. Tropea, on a cliff, is another dream town, with splendid views over the Aeolian Islands. Its blue fish fair is also a visual feast.
Belonging in ancient times to Magna Grecia, the Calabrian legacy includes the legendary Bronzes of Riance from the 5th century BC., now exhibited at the National Museum of Reggio Calabria. The interior of the region surprises us with untouched natural environments such as the natural parks of Sila and Aspromonte, known for its large rocks and torrents. The Strait of Messina separates Calabria from Sicily, facilitating a quick getaway to the wonderful island. |
