Description: Antrim 1844Close to the historical and enchanting town of Gettysburg is a 24-acre estate featuring a 19th century manor which is now the hotel Antrim 1844. All of its original splendour and charm has been maintained due to the careful restoration of the building. There are more than 24 fireplaces throughout the property, a formal English Tea Rose garden, and bronze fountains along with historical architecture. Antrim 1844 is perfect for hosting special occasions as is it famous for its gastronomic experience at the refined restaurant, wine cellar, and private dining experiences. The hotel also offers a pristine swimming pool, tennis courts, and many lawn games.There are a total of eleven restored buildings making up the Antrim 1844 property, each of which have a distinctive feel and provide different room styles depending on what one is looking for. Between cottage suites and superior rooms, all represent the elegance of the 1900s. The local area, including the town of Gettysburg, is famous for its historical places and gastronomic experiences such as the civil war sites, distilleries, and breweries. Type of rooms: Antrim 1844Antrim 1844’s 11 restored buildings are unique in terms of the types of rooms and suites they offer. No matter the choice of location, all rooms and suites will feature a queen or king bed, gas or wood fireplace (most rooms), jacuzzi tub (most rooms) Wi-Fi, hypo-allergenic bedding, ensuite bathroom, bathrobes, hairdryer, signature toiletries, ironing facilities, coffee making facilities, TV, and views of the gardens. All rooms offer exceptional breakfast every day.The Mansion: The first, and largest, building is the mansion which consists of nine rooms. The Boyd, Clabaugh, Meade, Boucher, and Francis Scott rooms all feature a king-sized bed and either a jetted tub, steam shower, or walk-in shower. All of which feature a fireplace except for the Francis Scott Room. The Lamberton, Brandon, and Ryan rooms feature a queen bed. Lamberton is the only one with a fireplace. The last room of the mansion, The Fuller room, offers a king and day bed and does not have a fireplace. The Ice House: The Ice House boasts only one room with a king bed and jetted tub. It is located in the formal garden and features a fireplace and private entrance. The Barn: The Barn offers two rooms; The Sleigh Room and The Loft Room. Both rooms feature a queen bed, private deck, and wooden fireplace. The Sleigh room features a two-person jetted tub while the Loft room features one-person jetted tub. The Cottage: The cottage is a singular space for two people featuring a queen bed, jetted tub, wood fireplace, and private entrance with town views. The Smith House: The Smith House consists of three rooms and suites. The Taney and Chamberlain Suites feature a queen bed, sitting room, wood fireplace, and two-person jetted tub. The Taney Suite also features a sun room and private balcony while the Chamberlain suite has a private deck. The third room of the Smith House is the Buford Room which has a queen bed, English basement, and sitting area. The Carriage House: Consisting of six rooms all with gas fireplaces, the Carriage House is a great place for a big group. The U.S. Grant Suite, Jacson Room, and Reynolds Room all offer a king bed. The Lee DeForest Suite, Monocacy Room, and Safari Room feature a queen bed. The U.S. Grant Suite is the only one without a jetted tub, but it is also the only room with double vanity. The Birnie House: The Birnie House consists of five spaces. The Armistead Room and Harriet Tubman Room feature a king bed with a jetted tub. The McClellan Room feature a queen bed, jetted tub, and double vanity. The Buffington Room offers a queen bed, private deck, and accessible tub. Lastly, the Warren Room, quite different from the rest, features a loft style room with space for four adults. It has a two-person tub, sitting room, private porch, and can be connected. The Annan House: The Annan House features the Amelia and Elizabeth Suites, both with a king bed, two-person jetted tub, and gas fireplace. The Witherow House: There are three rooms in the Witherow House. The Truesdell, Burch, and Tudor Rooms all feature a king bed, jetted shower, gas fireplace, and deck. The Zepp House: There are four rooms at the Zepp House. The Powel and Reindollar rooms offer a queen bed, jetted tub, and gas fireplace. The Bentley and Rinchart rooms offer a king bed, jetted tub, sitting area, and gas fireplace. The Slonaker House: The Slonaker house features four rooms, all of which feature a king bed, gas fireplace, and a jetted tub. The Winfield Scott, Emma Pense, and Robert Mills rooms feature a private deck or balcony and double vanity. The Abraham Lincoln offers a flat panel TV.
