Description: Meisenheimer HofThis magnificent property is located on a quiet square in Meisenheim, a city in miniature and the only town in south-western Germany not to have been affected by wars in more than 500 years. Standing in a superb baroque structure, used as a guest house since at least 1699, Meisenheimer Hof has been thoroughly restored and rebuilt, and since 2013 offers luxury boutique accommodation, fine wines and gourmet cuisine in a unique heritage setting.Standing by the river Glan, and surrounded by some of Germany's most beautiful landscapes, with vineyards, forests, cherry orchards, and so much more, Meisenheimer Hof is perfect for exploring this fabulous region. Hiking, cycling, E-biking or kayaking are all available close by the hotel, and guests can even explore the region on a draisine on the disused railway line between Staudernheim and Kusel. Meisenheim's charming cobbled streets are replete with myriad historic houses, churches and other heritage buildings, many from the 15th century. Each of Meisenheimer Hof's 17 luxurious hotel rooms are individually furnished and decorated to reflect both vineyards and prominent winemakers, or historical personalities with a connection to Meisenheim. Every room boasts fine modern comforts in a unique style and setting, skilfully combined with the baroque architecture of this historic building. Occupying a huge section of the ground floor, the restaurant kitchen is perhaps the raison d'être of this spectacular property. Here, master chef and host Markus Pape creates his magnificent menus, which can be enjoyed in a number of fabulous settings: the "Zur Blume", with wooden tables dating back two hundred years, the "Jägerzimmer" with mounted game and a bronze Diana, or the "Brunnenstube", with its distinctive medieval well.
