Standing right on the Peddars Way, an ancient national trail that crosses the county and leads directly to the Coastal Path, Magazine Wood is ideal for hikers and cyclists wishing to explore the countryside and the coast. The area also boasts some fabulous beaches, including Brancaster Beach and Harbour, Holme-next-Sea, Holkham Bay and Wells-next-the-sea, among many other beautiful spots. Birdwatching enthusiasts will be delighted by the Snettisham reserve, among many other natural locations. Magazine Wood offers an 'anytime' continental breakfast, served in guests' rooms, on the terrace or the dining area. Hearty cooked breakfasts are also available, ranging from a full English to smoked salmon, local kippers or free range eggs from the on-site chickens, cooked to order from the kitchen. How to get here: From King's Lynn/ Cambridge: From King's Lynn go approximately 13 miles (20,9 km) north on A149 towards Hunstanton. At Heacham, after you pass first a BP garage on the right and then a Jet Garage on the left you will come to a set of traffic lights by Norfolk Lavender. Turn right here onto the Sedgeford road, in the village the road goes past the war memorial followed by a sharp left hand turn out towards Docking. As you leave Sedgeford at the top of the hill look for a chapel style building "Magazine Cottage" on the left hand side. The turning onto Peddars Way and up to Magazine Wood is immediately before this building up a narrow metal road. From Norwich/South Norfolk: Aim for Fakenham and then take A148 towards King's Lynn. Approximately 5 miles (8 km) after Fakenham take B1454 signposted Docking and Hunstanton. You will enter Sedgeford approximately 3 miles (4,8 km) after passing through Docking. Look for a chapel style "Magazine Cottage" building about 100 yards past the Village sign on the right hand side. The turning onto Peddars Way and up to Magazine Wood is immediately after this up a narrow metal road.
