Description: Grays CourtNestled in the shadow of York Minster, Grays Court is a family-owned boutique hotel, situated in a painstakingly preserved and restored historic manor house, part of which was originally built in 1080. This charming property provides luxury accommodation and fine cuisine in a matchless heritage setting.Just footsteps from York Minster, Grays Court is ideally placed for relaxing, intimate stays in York, either for business or pleasure. Surrounded by the city walls, the hotel boasts a charming, picturesque garden, and has just nine individually designed and decorated rooms, most with views of the historic city and York Minster. Public areas range from the Jacobean oak-panelled Long Gallery to the 16th century Minster Room, the Library, and the striking Bow Room, the hotel's classic restaurant. The Bow Room is open daily, and serves a delicious range of menus based on the finest local, seasonal, market and garden-fresh produce from 'God's Own Country'. The hotel's wine list includes a carefully selected range of fine wines from around the world, including Nyetimber, one of the very finest English sparkling wines. Elizabeth Gray: A deluxe double for two people. An elegant en-suite room with a marble fireplace overlooking our gardens towards the city walls, furnished with antiques. Fairfax: Fairfax is a delightful en-suite double room with a walk-in-shower and a luxurious roll-top bath, with views over our historic courtyard. Williams: Charming double bedroom with en-suite shower overlooking our historic tree-lined cobbled courtyard to the front of the property. Aislabie: A double room furnished in antique furniture including a Louis XIV inlaid bed. The room is named after this unfortunate gentleman and enjoys views towards his final resting place, York Minster. It features a large walk-in-shower and further views over the historic cobbled courtyard. Clyff: Clyff is one of the newer double rooms in the hotel. With views over neighbouring gardens towards the City Walls, the room itself is beautifully decorated with soft greys and plush fabrics. The bathroom is of the highest quality with a large rain shower over the bath and feature tiling. Aske: With a west-facing view to York's surrounding city walls and gardens, Aske can be used as either a twin or 180 cm double. The rooms also features a en-suite shower. Please notify us in advance if you would like the bed to be made into a double. Edwards: Edwards is the newest room in the hotel. Split over two levels, it offers a spacious bedroom with soft seating in a bay window and a striking bathroom on the upper floor, accessed via a winding Georgian staircase. Room size 44 sq m. Cumberland: This is a beautiful suite with bay windows overlooking the garden and city walls. Featuring a luxurious free-standing bathtub and double walk-in monsoon shower, this is the perfect suite for a romantic getaway.
