Perched on a hillside overlooking the river Corgo, Quinta do Vallado is set in two fabulous buildings. The first is a magnificently restored manor house, dating from 1733, and one of the oldest "Quintas" in the valley. The second is a spectacular new slate-clad building, offering fantastic views over the valley and its beautiful rolling vineyards. This boutique wine hotel now offers exclusive accommodation and wine experiences in a friendly, rural setting.

Located in the heart of the Douro wine region, Quinta do Vallado is ideal for relaxing visits to this beautiful area. As a wine hotel, Quinta do Vallado organises a number of exclusive wine related activities, including tastings, visits to the vineyards and cellars and cookery demonstrations. The elegant wine shop stocks the winery's Douro DOC white and red wines, as well as a range of fine aged Ports. Outdoor activities offered from Quinta do Vallado include boat tours on the Douro, Land-Rover tours, canoeing and fishing. Bicycles are available for guests, and picnics can be arranged. The hotel has a magnificent garden with a large swimming pool, and there is also a billiards room.

Quinta do Vallado has just thirteen luxurious rooms. Five are located in the old Manor house, and feature traditional decoration and antique furnishings. The other eight are in the new wing, concluded in 2012 , and built after a project by the architect Francisco Vieira de Campos. The main material used in this ultra-modern project was the typical slate of the region, a highly characteristic element in the earth of the vineyards.

Double/Twin Room:
These air-conditioned rooms feature Douro style décor and have flat-screen TVs with cable channels. Two single beds or one double bed.

Superior Double or Twin Room:
These more spacious rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs and iPod docking stations. The balconies feature views of the river. One extra-large double bed or two single beds. Room size 21 sq m.
Suite:
These spacious suites feature a separate living room with a sofa, writing desk and a balcony. Elegant, minimalistic design and timber clad walls echoing the forms of the exterior slate walls. One extra-large bed or two single beds.

All rooms and suites feature air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, iPad and iPod docking stations.
