Tour buses to the Moorish Castle and the Pena Palace stop close by, and the historic Sintra-Praia das Maçãs tram line is just 400 metres away. Sintra's train station is also close by, providing excellent links with Lisbon and the rest of the region. Café Saudade, just fifty metres from the main house, serves breakfast, coffee, tea and delicious home-made snacks and beverages throughout the day.

In 1995, Sintra was classified by UNESCO as World heritage.
