After a careful, sympathetic renovation, this charming property opened as a bed and breakfast in 2005, and offers delightful boutique-style accommodation and friendly, welcoming service in a beautiful rural atmosphere.Steeped in history, the Inn at Glencairn is perfect for intimate getaways or relaxing escapes in the Princeton area. Strategically located between Lawrenceville and Princeton, Inn at Glencairn is ideally placed for visiting such nearby institutions as Princeton University or the Lawrenceville School. Guests wishing to explore further afield can be in both New York or Philadelphia within less than two hour's drive or train ride. Golf enthusiasts will also be delighted by a number of excellent courses in the surrounding region. Innkeeper and chef Lydia Oakes creates a delicious, home-cooked breakfast at the Inn at Glencairn every morning. Lydia's delicious home-made specialities include pastries, breads, pancakes, quiches, frittatas, her own version of Eggs Benedict, or her signature breakfast dessert, Java Truffles. Guests will wake up to the sound of birds frequenting the bird feeders in the gardens below. The Opdyke Room includes an en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower and the original washbasin sink. The Gulick Room: The Gulick Room features a high queen-sized four-poster bed and overlooks the back gardens, red frame barn and original stone smokehouse. The Gulick Room is perfect for sensitive sleepers given its location in the back of the Inn and boasts one of the largest en-suite bathrooms at the Inn. The Hunt Room: The Hunt Room is an elegant and spacious colonial room done in earth tones featuring a king-sized four-poster bed and decorative fireplace surrounded by exquisite Greek key moulding and woodwork. The Hunt Room overlooks our shady front lawn with majestic maple trees and includes an en-suite bathroom with shower. The Hunt Room has the only king-sized bed in the Inn! The Connah Room: The Connah Room is one of the largest rooms at the Inn and features a whimsical queen-sized wrought iron bed. The Connah Room faces the front lawn and towering maple trees and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The Connah Room is perfect for a romantic getaway. The Baldwin Suite: The Baldwin Suite is a cosy two room suite with its own private entrance and is situated above the original stone section of the manor. The suite features a queen-sized sleigh bed in one room and two twin beds with Hitchcock headboards in a separate room and includes a large en-suite bathroom with shower. The Baldwin Suite boasts original lead glass windows and views of both the mature trees in the front lawn and the outbuildings and great Sycamore tree in the rear of the property.
