La Barra, for nightlife and shopping, is just 20 km away from Posada Del Faro. With just 15 individually decorated rooms, this seaside inn can offer personalized and direct service. Type of rooms: La Posada del FaroAll the rooms face the pool, which is very communal as most rooms are accessed by walking through the pool area.Rooms have a minibar, ceiling fan, wireless internet, and lots of closet space and towels. No radio, ipod dock, or carpeting and a TV upon request. Standard Double Rooms: are on the ground floor with views of the pool and garden. They feature two single beds or one double bed and a bathroom. Superior Rooms: feature their own private terrace, sofa, armchair, wardrobe, fireplace, air-conditioning, and satellite TV upon request. Special Rooms: offer everything that the Superior Rooms have but are even more spacious. Additional information: La Posada del FaroDining: in winter they offer a family style dinner service on weekday evenings. It is an ample home cooked set menu including entree, main course, dessert and mineral water. Everyone sits together at the same table at the same time, normally at 9:30 pm. The local town does not have restaurants for supper Monday to Thursday in the winter so guests must drive to Punta del Este for dinner. The breakfasts are light, consisting of coffee, fruit and a bakery basket on a very pretty tray served wherever you like. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with no set breakfast time. Pool: The charming pool area features a sunken swim-up honesty bar where guests make their own drinks. The pool faces the sea but has privacy plants separating the hotel from the public beach. You can have breakfast out there and lounge around. Activities: They provide bikes, beach umbrellas and chairs for lounging. Other activities include offshore fishing, windsurf and kite surfing school, horseback riding, whale watching (July to October only), hiking on the beach, and bike tours. There are some wonderful art galleries in town. Getting around: Free bicycles for guests. Golf carts for local use can be rented for the day at the hotel. You will need a car if you want to drive to Punta del Este. |
