Description: Manoir HoveyThe only hotel on the shores of Lake Massawippi, Manoir Hovey is a charming historic property, set in a magnificent manor house, originally built in 1900, and inspired by George Washington's home at Mount Vernon. After a long and eventful history, this magnificent property was purchased by its present owners in 1979, and since then has been offering luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine and unique facilities in a magnificent lakeside setting.A wonderful spot for relaxing stays in North Hatley, one of Quebec's most picturesque villages, and a haven for artists and artisans, writers, theatre lovers and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds, Manoir Hovey offers a fabulous range of on-site activities in all seasons. In summer and autumn, guests can choose from kayaking, canoeing or paddle-boarding on the lake, tennis on an illuminated tennis court, and cycling on the resort's fully equipped touring bikes. In winter and spring, options available include snowshoeing, ice skating or ice-fishing. There are a number of excellent golf courses in the region, along with mountain centres for winter sports. Manoir Hovey's Le Hatley Restaurant offers a bold new approach to Canadian cuisine, with a terroir-driven menu based on seven seasonal flavour profiles created from the finest local and regional products from Quebec's rivers, lakes, fields and forests. The restaurant's award-winning wine list features over 900 labels, with excellent pairings available for every dish. The Tap Room pub is a more informal venue, ideal for cosy meals by the fireside in winter, or al fresco dining by the lake in summer. Type of rooms: Manoir HoveyStandard Room:The standard rooms are appointed in a country style and feature Queen-size beds with views either directly on the lake or the woods. Superior Room: Every room at Manoir Hovey is unique. Our charming superior rooms all have Queen size beds. Most have lake views and offer combinations of fireplaces and/or single whirlpool baths and/or balconies and/or king bed. Deluxe Room: Decorated in a country or contemporary style, the spacious and beautifully appointed Deluxe rooms feature queen or king-size beds, and most have private balconies or patios and panoramic views of the lake and gardens. They also come with single or double whirlpool baths, fireplaces, and a work area. Luxury Room: The Luxury rooms provide gracious and refined space and feature a private balcony, panoramic views of the lake and gardens, an oversize bathroom with single or double whirlpool tub and a separate shower, and a fireplace. Décor is country or contemporary, and these rooms also have a fireplace. One king-size or two queen beds. Cartier Suite: A romantic cottage right on the water! This secluded fairy-tale cottage directly on the lakeshore features a queen-size four poster bed, a large private deck with a panoramic lakeview, and a luxury bathroom with double therapeutic tub and a separate shower. These cottages also have a fireplace, and a private dock with your its own canoe and kayak. Massawippi Suite: The newest suite in the hotel, completed in May 2011, features 46 sq m of contemporary luxury. The suite is in the Manor House and features a king size bed, an oversized private balcony with stunning views directly over the English gardens and the lake, and an oversized white marble bathroom with heated floor, a stand alone oval therapeutic tub and large, separate glass shower. This suite also comes with a fireplace, and a large work area. Montcalm Suite: The Montcalm Suite exudes refinement, peace and serenity. The colour palette of the suite presents shades of green, white and grey, which complement the surrounding natural colours. The suite features a king-size bed, a screened-in porch opening onto a spacious private deck and magnificent views of Lake Massawippi. The luxurious bathroom accessible through a large walk-in closet, and comes with heated floors, a large glass shower and air-jetted oval soaking tub beautifully placed into the alcove of a bay window which also looks down the lake. This suite also comes with an additional sofa-bed, a fireplace, and a work area. Treetops Suite: Two beautifully appointed, luxurious suites in an elegant country cottage perched on a small cliff overlooking Manoir Hovey. Summer or winter, it is easy to fall for the charm of these suites. The Treetops Suites can be rented separately or as adjoining units. They feature king-size canopy beds, spacious lakeview porches and decks, and luxurious bathrooms with double jacuzzis and a separate shower. These magnificent suites also come with wood-burning fireplaces, cathedral ceilings, a kitchenette, a work area, and private parking. A lighted staircase leads down through the woods to the porte cochère of the Manor. Oriole Suite: The Vista Suites (Oriole and Héron) set a new standard for country inn accommodation in Quebec. Respectively 111 and 130 sq m, they have been designed in a contemporary style and are flooded with light. They can accommodate families or friends with their communicating doors. The Oriole Suite boasts a spacious, sunny bedroom with a king-size bed, a large walk-in closet, and a balcony with an impressive view of the lake and woods. The en-suite bathroom comes with a double whirlpool bath and steam shower. The suite also features a living room with a convertible sofa-bed, easy chairs, a flat-screen TV, desk and gas fireplace, and a custom fitted kitchen. Additional amenities include a hot tub, ample private parking, a private in-ground, heated pool (shared with Heron), a fleet of touring bikes, and a private lighted stairway down the bluff to the Manor's porte cochère. Heron Suite: The Heron Suite features two spacious bedrooms, each with a king-size bed. The master bathroom comes with a double whirlpool bath, a steam shower, separate WC and a spacious wardrobe, while the second bathroom features a glass shower and custom built wardrobe. There is a lounging area and work area with two fireplaces (one wood-burning and one gas), a kitchen, and a comfortable screened-in porch with a large hot tub overlooking the lake and the woods. Additional amenities include ample private parking, a private in-ground, heated pool (shared with Oriole), a fleet of touring bikes, and a private lighted stairway down the bluff to the main entrance of the Manoir. Cottage on Lake Massawippi: This traditional lakefront rental cottage sits on spacious private grounds on Lake Massawippi adjacent to the Manoir Hovey property. This accommodation is ideal for families, friends or those seeking more autonomy. The cottage contains three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large fully equipped kitchen. There is also a living room with a fireplace, a laundry room and pantry, three Tvs, and a DVD player. There is a large deck overlooking the lake and private garden. The cottage comes fully equipped with a beach, boathouse, deck, dock, canoe and kayak. Dragonwatch Cottage guests enjoy the use of all facilities at Manoir Hovey, although meals are not included in the rate. The Cottage is normally rented by the week in summer and for a minimum of two nights in the other seasons.
