Description: Château des AlpillesThis handsome property covers a lovely seven-hectare site in the foothills of 'Les Alpilles' on the outskirts of the Saint-Rémy de Provence in a magnificent natural setting. Initially a farm then later a castle the history of this property spans several centuries.The Bon family purchased this gentleman's residence in 1979 with the idea of converting it into a gracious hotel, a 'home from home' where guests could be made to feel like friends. A mother and daughter team set to decorating, renovating and transforming the manor house making sure to retain all aspects that contributed to its original charm and atmosphere. Whether you prefer the hotel restaurant in balmy weather or the open-air terrace, the hotel restaurant serves you excellent cuisine from their Chef, Mathias, whose training was completed in some of the leading hotels of France. His simple yet refined culinary offerings naturally highlight the regional flavours of the South of France. In the heart of the interior Provence, the foothills of the Alps offer some exceptionally beautiful natural scenery. A succession of long-established villages, each differing from its neighbours, from the little jewel of Eygalières, perched on the hilltops of what is reputedly the site of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to the magnificent village of Les Baux, the region is a treasure trove of wonderful cultural monuments set in idyllic countryside.
