With only a handful of rooms, service at Ikies Traditional Houses is intimate and personalized but also discrete.The houses are carved out of pumice into the cliffs of the caldera and boast post-card perfect white-washed roofs. The artisan's house studio: The largest superior studio with one main room with a queen-size bed tucked deep in the hollow of the caldera and 2 traditional sofas which can be turned into single beds for the night in order to accommodate extra persons. The fully equipped kitchenette has a bar counter around it and the large vaulted bathroom is dug into the rock. The terrace has a temperature controlled hot tub and an exterior use futon to lounge on. The gardener's house studio: located at the pool level and is the coziest and smallest room with a queen size bed, dressing table, built in wardrobe, and bathroom with a shower. The balcony where breakfast is served is located a few meters away from its entrance and rests virtually on the edge of the cliff offering uninterrupted views of the caldera and village of Oia. The boatman's house studio: This superior studio has one main room with a queen-size bed, fully equipped kitchenette, a coffee table and bookcase, and a bathroom with a shower. Located at one of the highest levels in the property, the veranda with its temperature controlled hot-tub has uninterrupted views of the caldera and the village of Oia which can also be seen while lying in bed. The sailor's house maisonette: The Sailor's House is located at the pool level and has a bedroom with a queen size bed upstairs in the loft which looks down onto the living area. The house can accommodate a third person on the ground floor sofa which can be turned into a single bed for the night. The small balcony in front of the house where breakfast is served offers views of the village of Oia and the sea below. The cook's house maisonette: The Cook's House is the largest maisonette with a bedroom (queen size bed) and bathroom in the loft which looks down onto the living area and has a captivating view of the caldera through the loft window. The ground floor has a second bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette, dinning table and two built in sofas which can be turned into single beds for the night to accommodate extra persons. The balcony which is on a level of its own has 180 degree views to the rest of the island and the sunset. The fisherman's house maisonette: This tastefully decorated maisonette is located on the pool level and has a bedroom with a queen size bed upstairs in the loft which looks down onto the living area. The two built-in sofas on the ground floor, where the kitchenette and cave bathroom are, can be turned into single beds for the night to accommodate extra persons. The veranda in front of the house has a marble top table where breakfast is served. The winemaker's house suite: The Winemaker's House is one of their honeymoon suites with a truly secluded terrace and uninterrupted views of the island. The private hot tub with its spacious deck and the exterior use futon offer relaxation on the veranda. The cave bedroom with the king size bed and ensuite dressing area are carved into the rock at the rear of the house and the separate living area has two traditional sofas and a dinning table. The spacious bathroom has two washbasins, walk-in shower, Jacuzzi bathtub with a view over the caldera, a spacious steam room, and extra amenities. As part of this room's experience they serve a champagne continental breakfast to your terrace each morning and cocktails at sunset. The collector's house suite: The house offers two separate bedrooms each with its king-size bed, ensuite dressing area and bathroom. The generous bathrooms are carved deep into the volcanic cliff and offer walk-in showers and Jacuzzi bathtubs. The spacious living and dinning area with its characteristic domed ceiling opens out onto the unique terrace with its combination of complete privacy and breathtaking views of the caldera and the village of Oia. The villa also boasts its own private spa area perched on the edge of the terrace overlooking the caldera. Take a soothing steam bath followed by a refreshing cold shower, then dip into the temperature controlled Jacuzzi, before finally moving over to the terrace futon - probably the best way to relax and take in the sun and unique view. The carpenter's house suite: This is their second honeymoon suite located at the far end of the complex with its own exit to the pathway that leads into the village of Oia. The large vaulted bedroom with a king-size bed and elevated step-in Jacuzzi bathtub behind the bed is located to the rear of the house. The separate living area has two large traditional sofas, a dinning table, and a bar area. The bathroom layout includes a walk-in shower and a steam room for two. The spacious terrace has a private hot tub tucked into the corner for privacy and offers views to the caldera and the village of Oia. As part of this room's experience they serve a champagne continental breakfast to your terrace each morning and cocktails of your choice at sunset. The captain's house suite: The Captain's House is one of their nicest suites with a private hot tub nestled snugly in the corner of the secluded terrace with views to the caldera and village of Oia. The bedroom which is separate from the living room, has access to the hot tub through the French window and offers beautiful views to the village of Oia while lying in bed. The living room has two traditional sofas which can be turned into single beds for the night, a kitchenette and dinning table. The terrace also offers an exterior use futon and marble-top table. The antiquarian's house suite: This is their largest suite with a master bedroom with its own bathroom and a queen-size bed in the converted cistern of the lower level and a second bedroom on the ground level with a queen-size bed and a bathroom. The ground floor layout also includes the living room with two traditional sofas and a dinning table, and a fully equipped kitchenette. The spacious terrace has a private hot tub nestled in a corner, an exterior use futon to lounge on, and a marble top table where breakfast is served.
