Standing at the foot of the Mendip Hills, less than two kilometres from Wells Cathedral, Beryl Country House is set in a Victorian Gothic mansion, originally built in 1842. Since being purchased and restored by its present owners, it has been run as a small country hotel, and now offers delightful bed and breakfast accommodation in a charming garden setting.

Set in 13 acres of beautiful parkland and featuring a carefully tended Victorian walled garden, an ornamental pond and avenues of century old trees, Beryl Country House is a lovely spot for exploring Wells and the surrounding region. Rooms have fine views of the cathedral, the garden or the countryside, and the house boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool, along with a children's play area. Aside from the spectacular cathedral, nearby landmarks include the Bishop's palace, the Cheddar Gorge and caves, Bath, the Haynes Motor Museum.

Every morning, Beryl Country House offers a varied breakfast menu, served in the elegant dining room. Guests can choose from continental style, traditional English, vegetarian, and many other options, all with the finest, locally sourced ingredients from the region's farms and suppliers, whenever possible. An honesty bar with wines, beer, soft drinks and snacks is also available throughout the day.

Butterfly:
A luxurious king-size/twin half-tester bedded room with en-suite bath, shower, toilet and basin. The room contains a sofa-bed which turns it into a family room if needed. Very spacious room with views of the gardens.
Master:
A large luxurious king-size four-poster room with en-suite bath, shower, toilet and basin. The room contains a sofa-bed which turns it into a family room if needed, and enjoys garden and Cathedral views.

Second Floor Rooms
Autumn:
A twin/king-size bedded room with en-suite shower, toilet and basin. Rural views.
Summer:
A queen-size double-bedded room with en-suite shower, toilet and basin. It comes with an area suitable for a child's bed. Views of lawn. This room can accommodate 2 extra Z-beds.
Winter:
A twin/king-size bedded room with en-suite shower, toilet and basin. Views of gardens and Wells Cathedral.
Spring:
A queen-size four-poster bedded room with en-suite shower, toilet and basin. Views of gardens and Wells Cathedral.
Pepecorn:
A good-sized four-poster bedded room with a private area suitable for a child's bed, it also has an en-suite shower, toilet and basin.

Twin/King-size bedded room with an en-suite bath with overhead shower, toilet and basin. This room has rural views, and can take one extra Z-bed.
