Castiglion del Bosco is a magnificent boutique resort, located in a painstakingly restored Tuscan hilltop estate, originally dating from the 12th century. This hotel forms a part of Il Borgo, the original nucleus of the estate, adjacent to the castle. As part of the larger Castiglion del Bosco estate, Il Borgo offers guests an immense range of facilities and activities, including the estate's La Canonica Culinary Academy, and two restaurants; the traditional Osteria La Canonica restaurant and the the elegant Ristorante Il Drago. There is an "orto", or kitchen garden, with 180 varieties of vegetables and herbs, the Bottega, selling speciality culinary items, a bar, with views over the Sienese countryside, a comfortable, well-stocked cigar-room, and a spectacular heated stone infinity pool with views over wooded slopes to the hilltop town of Montalcino. Il Borgo also houses the Care Suite Spa by Daniela Steiner, with a full range of beauty, spa and wellness treatments. Deluxe Rooms:
A spacious master bedroom with bathroom and comfortable sitting corner. Some of these rooms also have a private terrace overlooking the Tuscan hills. They are characterized by warm colours, welcoming atmospheres and are all located in the main buildings at Il Borgo. These rooms size range from 50 to 72 sq m.
Junior Suites:
The Junior Suites have a large living room and master bedroom with bathroom; some of the Junior Suites also have a private terrace overlooking the avenue of Il Borgo. They are characterized by finely furnished spaces, typical Tuscan-countryside colours and are located in the main building at Il Borgo. All Junior Suites have spectacular views over the Tuscan countryside. Range from 64 to 88 sq m.
Terrace Suites:
The Terrace Suites are characterized by pergola-covered terraces. They all have a large master bedroom with bathroom, airy living room, walk-in closet and ground floor access. Furnished with authentic Tuscan colours, warm atmospheres and are located in the "Old Winery" and "Scuderie" buildings at Il Borgo. Sizes range from 78 to 102 sq m.
CdB Suites:
The CdB Suites are all very spacious, with generous master bedroom and bathroom, guest bathroom, walk-in closet and living room. Some of these beautifully appointed suites have a private terrace and one of them also features a spectacular private garden with wood burning oven and an in-suite kitchenette. These suites distinguish themselves by unique pieces created by Florentine artisans, exclusive and refined fabrics and are located in all the buildings at Il Borgo. Sizes range from 87 to 110 sq m.
Drago Suite:
The Drago Suite is Castigion del Bosco's most prestigious Suite. In the past, it was used as the ballroom of Castiglion del Bosco. This breathtaking suite is located in the main Villa at Il Borgo, overlooking the fascinating and mysterious Tuscan interior valley, the town of Montalcino which rises on another hilltop in the distance and our spectacular infinity pool. The Drago Suite has a very spacious living room with hand-painted vaulted ceiling, original Tuscan fireplace, spacious bedroom and a large bathroom with walk-in closet. The size of this suite is 137 sq m.
