Colorado is named after the grand river that winds through it. A land of striking contrasts, this southwestern state attracts visitors with a love of the Great Outdoors. The Rocky Mountains are located on the western side of the state where the highest peaks are perpetually covered in snow.
On the eastern side are vast plains where cattle ranches and old gold mines evoke images of the mythic Wild West. Numerous activities offer the possibility to explore these vast open spaces, among them: hiking, rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, rock-climbing and horse riding.

Many visitors to Colorado are also attracted by the famous ski slopes of Summit County, Vail and Aspen. Denver is the state capital and the most important city within a 1,000-kilometre radius. It is situated at the point where the great plains become the lower slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
Colorado has two national parks of particular interest: Mesa Verde in the south and Rocky Mountain in the north, which includes a small section of the famous mountain range. Some of our small luxury hotels in Colorado are located within easy reach of these parks. We have also selected several boutique hotels in and around Aspen. |
